Volunteer Opportunities!
We are in the midst of NVSL training for the summer season. We would still encourage parents to take the stroke & turn training if they are interested, there is no exam, just attend a training session. An additional referee or starter would be good too! The training schedule is attached and can also be found here.
Taking these trainings does not mean you are committing to only being this type of volunteer! We are trying to build depth in our trained volunteers, and you will still have the opportunity to volunteer in many capacities. Remember it takes approximately 35 volunteers to run an A Meet and nearly 50 volunteers for a B meet!
🎙 Speaking of many volunteers, our announcer, Abram Ellis, has 2 B Meets (June 12 and 19) where he will need a substitute to Speaking of many volunteers, our announcer, Abram Ellis, has 2 B Meets (June 12 and 19) where he will need a substitute to cover for him. If anyone wants to give it a whirl, B meets are a great time to try something new. Bonus perk is a seat on deck near the action!
Chris Upham is looking for a few volunteers to assist with some of the recurring behind the scenes tasks of the Concession Stand (ordering donuts, ordering pizza and/or chick fil A, setting up/organizing food before the meet starts). If we can have a few people who could commit to being involved in these tasks for the duration of the season that would be great. We will continue to include concessions staffing and day-of food pick-ups to the various meet sign-ups.
Christy Teal (our photo archivist) is looking to turn over the task of managing and maintaining the hard drive and dropbox. She will walk you through this process.
Pep Rallies – it would be great to have 2 or 3 pep rallies and I don’t have the bandwidth to plan them. Fridays: June 16, 23, 30, July 7 or 14 are all available. Parents and/or teens are welcome to claim a night and plan something.
If any of these volunteer opportunities sound appealing to you, just let Caitlin Irvin know and she will connect you with the right person.
