Swim Gear Update – Virginia Hills Swim Club

SWIMSUITS:

Our vendor of the past 2 years is experiencing extreme supply shortages and cannot meet our season’s timeline. We have lined up a new vendor (SportFair) and have scheduled a suit sale for Tuesday, June 11 from 4-7 PM during practice at Virginia Hills. SportFair will have the suits for sale in a variety of sizes, so chances are you can purchase your swimmer’s suit that day.

Fairly soon we should have an online ordering link for those who cannot attend the try-on date and already know the proper size needed. Check out the suit here, we are using the royal blue pattern: https://drive.google.com/SPEEDO preview.

SWIM CAPS
Strongly encouraged for any swimmer who is not a rookie. $18 (Silicone), $8 (Latex). Available for purchase from Team Rep Caitlin Irvin or from Concessions once the season starts. You don’t have to have our team cap, but you can’t wear the cap of another team (including your school or winter club) at meets. Neutral caps are ok.We are putting in an order for personalized caps – same yellow cap as but with your child’s name on it. The vendor requires each order to be purchased in multiples of 2 (e.g. for 2 kids you can buy 2 caps or 4 caps and so on). Most families personalize with the last name only, but it is up to you. GOGGLES
All swimmers need goggles. Cost is around $20. A decent pair of competition goggles are a better investment than those found at Target or Walmart and can be found at our SwimOutlet team store: http://www.swimoutlet.com/vahillstidalwave

FINS AND KICKBOARDS
Cost around $10-$20 for each. They can be purchased from our team store, the team has a bin of donated fins but you may or may not find two matching fins. The same kickboard can be passed between siblings at different practices. We do have some team kickboards to loan as well. All 8&Under swimmers should have a pair of fins that fit.

ROOKIES: need a swimsuit that fits (does not have to be a team suit), many rookies like to have goggles. That is all they need.
